I was going to write a quick recap about the crazy offseason so far in college football. And then Kiffin and USC did this and made my head explode. My brain hurts so much. I am at a loss for words. Flee, flee for your lives

So another regular season of college football will wrap up this Saturday. This, of course, makes me really sad. Bowl season will be good but it just means winter is approaching and all the games will be played in recruiting and in the blogosphere for 8 months. Luckily this final week should be epic. Nearly all of the BCS spots are up for grab starting tomorrow evening in Eugene. The big game will be in Atlanta as Urban and Saban will duel again. Expect an absolute slug fest with those two defenses. On to the picks...

Thursday Oregon St at Oregon 9 ESPN

The Pick: Oregon 38-30. The Beavers are a sneaky team much like Oregon was when the two teams played last year. However, the Ducks are crazy good at home. Mmmm, spread offense.

Friday Ohio vs Central Michigan 8 ESPN2

The Pick: CMU 41-20. Dan Lefevour wraps up his great career in the MAC with another title.

West Virginia at Rutgers 12 ESPN

The Pick: WVU 20-17. WVU wins another close one to go to the Gator Bowl.

Houston vs ECU 12 ESPN2

The Pick: Houston 35-24. Case Keenum shows off his arm but no one will notice because of Pitt/Cincy.

Cincinnati at Pitt 12 ABC

The Pick: Cincy 31-17. Offense versus defense. A guy who has to answer about his job status versus a mustache. Wooo, Big East football.

Arizona at USC 3:30 ABC

The Pick: USC 24-17. Wait USC isn't going to the Rose Bowl? Who is the Big Ten supposed to lose to on New Year's Day then?

Florida vs Alabama 4 CBS

The Pick: Florida 23-19. I have a tough time thinking this outcome will be different than last year's.

Ga Tech vs Clemson 8 ESPN

The Pick: Ga Tech 31-20. The Thursday night game earlier in the year was a good one, this one should be as well.

Texas vs Nebraska 8 ABC

The Pick Horns 31-10. People are freaking out at the possibility of Texas losing. I am not.

Wisconsin at Hawaii 11:30 ESPN 2

The Pick Wisco 38-10. Normally I would go with Army/Navy this week but they don't play until next week which is weird.

Last week: 4-6

Season: 76-54.

Goodbye regular season. Goodbye. (Yes I did just end the season with Sound of Music, deal with it.)

This week Tim Tebow says goodbye to the swamp. I don't have too much thought of Tebow either way suprisingly. He has been an amazing player and is annoying to most at the same time. If he wears yours colors you love him and if not you dspise him. I get this, I root for players just like him (Crosby and Hines Ward). College football will be a little different whenn he moves on after New Years. (Plus my team beat him all those years ago. Woo. It is all I have left.) This week the Picks come to you from the Burgh. It should eb a solid weekend of football and food. Enjoy...

Thursday Texas at Texas A&M 8 ESPN

The Pick: Texas 45-20. McCoy will try to remind people that he is a Heisman candidate as well.

Friday Alabama at Auburn 2:30 CBS

The Pick: Alabama 28-17. Gene Chizik learns about the Iron Bowl.

Friday Pitt at WVU 7 ESPN2

The Pick: Pitt 24-17. When this game happens I get to be at my 5 year HS reunion getting pepperd with questions from everywhere about Rich Rod. "Another drink Bartender."

Friday Neveada at Boise St 10 ESPN2

The Pick: Neveda 45-42. This game will keep me glued to the TV as well.

Oklahoma St at Oklahoma 12:30

The Pick: OKie St 21-17. Zac Robinson should be healthy and the differnce.

Miami at USF 3:30 ABC

The Pick: Miami 30-21. USF will try to be #2 in the state of Florida and that's not bad. I doubt it will happen though.

Florida State at Florida 3:30 CBS

The Pick: Florida- 30-17. Goodbye Swamp.

Utah at BYU 5

The Pick: Utah 21-20. The battle for second will go to the Utes.

Arkansas at LSU 7 ESPN

The Pick: O Les Miles and your wonderous coaching ability, what will happen next?

Georgia at Georgia Tech 8 ABC

The Pick: Ga Tech. 35-24. Triple option and such.

Last week: 7-3

Season: 72-48

Happy Thanksgiving

So, judgment day is nearly upon us. I am not going to lie; it has been tough to be a Michigan fan the last five years. Jimmy T owns us and I went through my four years at Michigan without seeing my team come away with a victory in this game. This year most of the country will ignore this game as they should and focus on another great weekend in the Pac 10. But for we that bleed Maize and Blue this game will mean a ton. The whole bowl game thing and the joy of beating OSU are obvious. But the whole focus of the game will be on Rich Rodriguez and his tumultuous tenure at Michigan. Everyone and their mom weigh in on this subject. I don’t have a problem with anyone giving their opinion except when people play the “right fit” card and don’t relate that to wins. You are the right fit if you win and do it the right way. Any other reason is stupid considering Michigan’s most successful coach (Fielding H Yost) is from West Virginia. So if he doesn’t win then yes, he should be fired.

For anyone who knows me and follows this blog knows I am a big Rich Rod supporter and have been since he was hired. I haven’t made too much comment on it this year because Michigan isn’t that important on a national scale this year. But it is clear this game is huge for him. I want to see him given a real chance to build this program but there is so much negativity it is absurd. I obviously hope he wins this game so he can just coach and not have to spend the year doing his best Charlie Weis impression and answer questions about his job every day. We are obviously dogs but I will be in that stadium pulling hard for Rich Rod and his players to enjoy at least one day of being at Michigan. Enough of the rant, on with the picks…

Thursday Colorado at Oklahoma State 7:30 ESPN

The Pick: Oklahoma St 38-14. Dan Hawkins joins this post of embattled coaches.

Ohio State at Michigan Noon ABC

The Pick: Michigan 31-30. Sorry for the homer pick but I can’t pick OSU. I hate them so much I don’t even own anything Red. Get fired up here, here, here and here.

North Carolina at Boston College Noon ESPN2

The Pick: UNC 21-17. I have no idea

LSU at Ole Miss 3:30 CBS

The Pick: Ole Miss 27-17. I am going with the upset. I think LSU has squeaked past a few too many for my liking.

Penn St at Michigan St 3:30 ABC

The Pick: PSU 28-24. I expect a close one. Still thinking about going with Sparty. Makes me shudder.

Wisconsin at Northwestern 3:30 Big Ten Network

The Pick: Wisconsin 31-17. Another quality Big Ten game that doesn’t involve Michigan or Ohio State, what do you know?

Cal at Stanford 7:30 FSN

The Pick: Stanford 40-31. Party on the farm with Harbaugh.

Kansas State at Nebraska 7:45 ESPN 360

The Pick: Nebraska 17-16. Pretty absurd that this game decides the Big XII North and it isn’t even on TV. Even more absurd is that K State either wins the North or doesn’t go to a bowl because it played two 1-AA teams.

Kansas at Texas 8 ABC

The Pick: Texas 45-17. Mangino is the third coach mentioned on the list having a tough time.

Oregon at Arizona 8 ABC

The Pick: Oregon 38-34. Pac 10 race heats up where it is hot.

Last week: 6-4

Season: 65-45

Take it easy and enjoy the weekend.

So my home computer went boom yesterday. So this is coming to you from work so it will be quick but fierce. I work in sports so I can just call this work anyway.

Friday West Virginia at Cinicinnati 8 ESPN2

The Pick: WVU 31-28. I am starting off with a bang. I think Cincy D is vulnerable.

Georgia Tech at Duke Noon ESPN2

The Pick: Ga Tech 45-28. Duke again? Its the ACC.

Florida at South Carolina 3:30 CBS

The Pick: Florida 24-14. I thought playing for a national title was supposed to be fun.

Idaho at Boise State 3:30 ESPNU

The Pick: 40-31. Temeted to go with their downfall but not yet.

Iowa at Ohio St 3:30 ABC

The Pick: OSU 20-13. Alright Big Ten. Rose Bowl is on the line. James Vanderbeek will have a tough time

Miami at North Carolina 3:30 ABC

The Pick: Miami 24-20. Pick the game and move on.

Stanford at USC 3:30 FSN

The Pick: USC 31-21. Fight Jim Harbaugh, fight like hell.

Utah at TCU 7:30 CBS College Network

The Pick: TCU 21-13. Great game, no idea if I get the network.

Notre Dame at Pitt 8 ABC

The Pick: ND 34-30. Another close ND game from the great Heinz Field.

Texas Tech at Oklahoma St 8 ABC

The Pick: OK St 40-35. This game reminds us of the good times.

Last week: 5-5

Season: 59-41

Go Stillers

Alright, what is up November? That whole October thing, eh, not so much. This week is kind of a dud in terms of marquee matchups as well. In other words, shits weak. However, I haven’t been home for three weeks so my couch and I have a big date Saturday. I am pretty excited. So don’t let the slate of games get you down, we only have a month left of the regular season. Every season just grows up too fast…

Thursday Virginia Tech at East Carolina 7:30 ESPN

The Pick: VT 28-10. I went with the Hokies last week at home and somehow they lost. Just another week in the ACC.

Friday Boise St at Louisiana Tech 8 ESPN2

The Pick: Boise St 40-21. A top notch PR firm will somehow make this game must watch.

Northwestern at Iowa Noon ESPN

The Pick: Iowa 31-21. Will it be another Iowa miracle? I doubt it just because Kafka is injured for the Wildcats.

Navy at Notre Dame 2:30 NBC

The Pick: Notre Dame 38-20. The whole daylight savings time and Indiana (Arizona as well) kind of confuses me. Expect Floyd to make an impact.

Duke at North Carolina 3:30 ESPNU

The Pick: UNC 31-27. I bet you can’t believe to see this game here. Neither can I but that is what living with the ACC is like.

Oregon at Stanford 3:30

The Pick: Oregon 24-20. This is a trap game on the farm for the Ducks.

Ohio St at Penn St 3:30 ABC

The Pick: Penn St 23-20. I have a tough time believing Pryor is ready to win this game. Clark would have to lose it like he did versus Iowa. (On another note the Buckeye community is freaking out over some throwback uniforms they will be wearing versus Michigan. God I wish that was our issue for that game.)

LSU at Alabama 3:30 CBS

The Pick: Alabama 17-13. This will be another SEC struggle. Expect Jefferson to struggle in Tuscaloosa.

UConn at Cincinnati 8 ABC

The Pick: Cincinnati 28-20. The Huskies have lost some tough ones the past couple of weeks; I will be pulling for them.

Oklahoma at Nebraska 8 ABC

The Pick: Oklahoma 38-20. This used to be huge matchup, not so much anymore.

Last week: 7-3

Season: 54-36

Let’s go November!

Nothing out of the ordinary last week outside of the random fire that broke out in Ann Arbor as I was drinking. There really is no experience like watch a building burn down as you crush cheap booze. This week I’m off to Champaign to spend my Halloween like a college kid. But enough about me. It’s about you, right? I have no idea who you are but whatever. This week is pretty top heavy with a couple of big games but it is light across the board. O well. On with the show…

Thursday North Carolina at Virginia Tech 7:30 ESPN

The Pick: 21-10. We have been over this before. A night game in Blacksburg goes to the Hokies.

Friday West Virginia at USF 8 ESPN2

The Pick: WVU 30-24. I am tempted to pick WVU because the Bulls have their number but I like Noel Devine too much. I wish he came with Richard.

Ole Miss at Auburn Noon

The Pick: Ole Miss 27-17. I guess Gus and his offense have hit a wall.

Central Michigan at Boston College 3:30 ESPNU

The Pick: BC 24-20. I have decided to give the MAC some love. It should be a solid game

Georgia vs Florida 3:30 CBS

The Pick: Florida 24-10. Ah yes the cocktail thing or whatever. I bet it will be epic in terms of quality Halloween costumes. The game should be standard Florida beat Georgia.

Penn State at Northwestern 4:30 ESPN

The Pick: PSU 40-17. PSU is a pretty good football team. That’s how Joe Pa would describe his team.

Kansas St at Oklahoma 7

The Pick: Oklahoma 40-21. This game won’t get much publicity but somehow K State is leading the Big XII North. Expect big things from the stache at QB.

South Carolina at Tennessee 7:45 ESPN

The Pick: Tennessee 13-10. Slogging through the mud with the SEC.

Texas at Oklahoma St 8 ABC/ESPN2

The Pick: Texas 31-23. Luckily they are broadcasting both late night games. I expect the Horns to continue their march.

USC at Oregon 8 ABC/ESPN2

The Pick: Oregon 24-17. Barkley has to lose one of these big games on the road right? Right?

Last week: 7-3

Season: 47-33.

Enjoy your Halloween. Kitty wants some candy. Take it easy everyone.

Well I did it and I didn’t die which is no laughing matter since three of my fellow runner passed away in the D marathon. Now I get to go back to business and actually drink something other than water on Saturdays. I will be up in Ann Arbor and I will do what I love to the most. Last week was a heck of a football weekend. Let’s take a look at this week…

UConn at West Virginia Noon ESPNU

The Pick: WVU 27-20. Woo, West Virginia

South Florida at Pitt Noon

The Pick: Pitt 20-10. Dion Lewis is apparently pretty good.

Arkansas at Ole Miss 12:20 SEC Network

The Pick: Arkansas 31-20. Ryan Mallett can throw a football over a mountain.

Boston College at Notre Dame 3:30 NBC

The Pick: Notre Dame 27-21. I clearly shouldn’t have picked ND. I had no idea Barkley was that good. But then again ND can’t handle thru frosh Qbs. Zing

Clemson at Miami 3:30 ABC

The Pick: The U 31-14. O hello and goodbye Clemson.

Oregon at Washington 3:30 ABC

The Pick: Ducks 38-28. The Chip Kelley man crush is back.

Penn State at Michigan 3:30 ABC

The Pick: Michigan 30-27. We break PSU’s hearts again, deal with it.

Iowa at Michigan St 7 BTN

The Pick: Iowa 17-10. Big game not many people are talking about.

Oregon St at USC 8 ABC

The Pick: USC 31-17. USC doesn’t lose at home.

Texas at Missouri 8 ABC

The Pick: Texas 24-20. Where are you Colt McCoy who completes passes at a really high percentage?

Last week: 6-4

Season: 40-30

I’m out. Enjoy

Alright Big XII, it’s your turn. After all of the SEC love last week, it is time to show what you have got. The Red River Rivalry doesn’t have quite the amount of hype expected at the beginning of the year but ESPN will try to play it up like it is just as important. Some other quality games are on tap as well including the lovely USC/ND matchup (advantage USC as seen above) and a trap game in the Swamp for the Gators. Enough of my junk picks as well. Onto some solid ones…

Thursday Cincinnati at USF 7:30 ESPN

The Pick: Cincy 28-17. This one reminds me of the epic Thursday night games a few years ago in the Big East. Unfortunately for USF all I can do is remember them struggling around this time of year.

Friday Pitt at Rutgers 8 ESPN

The Pick: Pitt 21-16. I haven’t heard from Rutgers since that opening loss against Cincy. The Scarlet Knights are starting frosh Tom Savage at QB and he hasn’t thrown a int yet, expect that to change.

Oklahoma vs Texas Noon ABC

The Pick: Texas 34-30. Sam Bradford will do his best but I don’t think OU has enough to beat a solid Horns team.

Iowa at Wisconsin Noon ABC

The Pick: Wisconsin 27-20. I liked Wisconsin last week outside of non offensive TDs they gave up to OSU. In the Big Ten, go with the home team.

Arkansas at Florida 3:30 CBS

The Pick: Florida 23-10. This is a trap game, look at Ole Miss last year. Yada, yada, yada if Florida’s defense shows up like last week. Mallet is a good QB but he is a year away from beating these top notch defenses.

USC at Notre Dame 3:30 NBC

The Pick: Notre Dame 31-28. This is probably a stupid pick but this isn’t because it’s their time argument. I think Clausen will be able to get his team up and Barkley won’t be able to bring his team back. It is still a dumb pick because of the girl advantage.

Texas Tech at Nebraska 3:30 ABC

The Pick: Nebraska 35-24. I doubted the Huskers last week and it was stupid.

Virginia Tech at Georgia Tech 6 ESPN2

The Pick: VT 21-17. Don’t think, pick the Hokies and move on.

South Carolina at Alabama 7:45 ESPN

The Pick: 31-17. Go with Saban and his defense and move on.

Missouri at Oklahoma St 915 ESPN2

The Pick: OSU 35-31. I went against the Cowboys last week, not going to do it again.

Last week: 6-4

Season: 34-26

I run a half marathon in Detroit early Sunday morning. Feel free to chuckle as you sleep in on that day and think of me struggling. Take it easy.

Michael Roarty

Hello, Nurse. Another week came and went and of course it was exciting. Tate did the best he could but me and my Maize and Blue brethren got a wakeup call about how long we still have to go. That won’t be the focal point of this week though. This week the CFB world turns to the SEC which cranks out some sweet matchups this week. Very rarely is a UGA/Tennessee game the fourth best on the slate. The big one will be the Time Tebow/Prank call bowl in Louisiana. On to the picks…

Thursday Nebraska at Missouri 9 pm ESPN

The Pick: Missouri 31-28. I can’t believe I am picking Mizzou to beat the Huskers three times in a row. Somewhere Tom Osborne is shaking his fist at the sky in the middle of a field in Nebraska. This makes me laugh.

Boston College at Virginia Tech Noon ESPN 360

The Pick: VT 20-10. I hate the ACC. It is impossible to figure out. Just go with the Hokies and forget about it.

Auburn at Arkansas Noon ESPN

The Pick: Auburn 38-31. Another score board exploding game. Malzahn and points go hand in hand like pumpkins and the random goo that is inside a pumpkin.

Oklahoma State at Texas A&M 12:30

The Pick Texas A&M 35-28. The Pokes should blame Prime Time for this loss.

UConn at Pitt 3:30 ABC Regional

The Pick: Pitt 28-14. I had to get the Big East and the stache in here somehow.

Alabama at Ole Miss 3:30 CBS

The Pick: Bama 27-10. This game was supposed to be huge but I think we all know what is going to happen. Saban beat down.

Wisconsin at Ohio St 3:30 ABC Regional

The Pick: OSU. 20-17. The Big Ten will show some fire power one day. I have no idea when that day is though.

Oregon at UCLA 3:30 ABC Regional

The Pick: UCLA 24-20. I have no idea why I am going with the Bruins considering they struggle to score. O well.

Michigan at Iowa 8 ABC

The Pick: Iowa 17-13. Myself and some people from a random state in the middle of the country will be watching this one. Iowa doesn’t give up rushing touchdowns, hence the win.

Florida at LSU 8 CBS

The Pick: Florida 28-24. Gary Danielson will freak out after LSU scores at gets an unsportsmanlike penalty as some LSU play reenacts the Tebow concussion. I don’t see this because of the Michigan game.

I hope all goes well for you and yours this weekend. Another lame weekend for me. Calm before the storm, next weekend I run a half marathon and die during it. Should be fun. Take it easy.
